A Walk on the Wild Side: South of the Thames

My roommate Kaitlyn and I did this walk on Saturday morning. It was a beautiful day and I loved getting my bearings around the Thames. They were actually setting up for the HUGE Thames festival so we got to browse through a few booths before the crowds showed up.

One of the biggest things I noticed, and loved, about this walk was the art around the city. At some points it was more traditional . . . sculptures, etc. and at others it was more modern or trendy even. But no matter the kind there was always something interesting to look at which revealed a little more about the people, history, and ever changing culture of the city.

A sculpture of the Holy Family outside of Southwark Cathedral.

Cube and fountains in the shadow of Tower Bridge (no you can't see it in this picture).

Cool memorial thingy dedicated by the Queen.

Some wall art.

The outside of the Tate Modern.

A fantasy-land ship sculpture!!!

Street art in a skate park.
